Army Career Detail:
- "Father Steve began his military career in 1981 as a Army ROTC Cadet at UCLA and enlisted member of the California National Guard. He was commissioned in the Medical Service Corps in 1983. He served as a Platoon Leader, Company Executive Officer and Commander in the 557th Medical Company (Ambulance) and as a Personnel Officer in the 68th Medical Group from 1984-1986. He served as the Adjutant of the Academy Brigade, Academy of Health Sciences from 1987-1988. Moving to the Texas Army National Guard in 1989 he served as a Chaplain Candidate and Chaplain in the 49th Armored Division's 111th Engineer Battalion. He later served as a Chaplain in the Virginia National Guard's 1/170th Infantry Battalion. In 1995 he was promoted to the rank of Major and transfered to the army reserve where he has served in the 321st Ordnance Battalion and 38th ordnance Group. During 1996 he was mobilized for the Bosnia Peace Mission, serving as a chaplain in Wurzburg and Kitzingen, Germany. He then served as the Installation chaplain of Fort Indiantown Gap, Pennsylvania from 1997-1998. He also served as an exchange officer at the German Army Panzertruppenschule and PanzerLehr Brigade, Munster, Germany in 1998."
