About This Website

This web site is a good-faith, volunteer effort on my part, and my part alone, to attempt to accurately document the people and church organizations of the autocephalous-church movement (also known as the "independent movement") in an uplifting manner. I do this to help build up the Body of Christ! You may wish to think of this effort as both web-journalism and a labor of love.

I do not allow any other church organization to influence what I do with this web site. I do not accept donations or bribes for this web site. I maintain full editorial control of this site.

I spend a considerable amount of researching this stuff and strive to report accurate information. When I have only partial information, I try to make do. When credible folks cheerfully suggest corrections, I, in turn, cheerfully make the corrections as my time allows.

I try my best to impartially document this movement; despite my pronounced anti-theosophical leanings, I even list theosophical churches and clergy!

As I said before, this is a volunteer effort on my part, and is at or near the bottom of my priories, time-wise. When I have the time, I check my email and make updates and additions. When I don't have the time, I simply don't.

When someone writes me concerning this web site, he or she needs to allow for the fact that it may be a month or more before I may respond. When I have the time, though, I will try to thoughtfully respond within a few days.

I want to remind all you folks out there, that once you become a clergy and/or a religious in the autocephalous movement, you become a public religious figure, and hopefully you will start peforming public ministry and public religious ceremonies. It is because of this irrevocable, incommutable fact, that you have voluntarily surrendered some of your anonymity. Once you become a public religious figure, folks (the public) have the unconditional right to know you exist, and to try to contact you.

Accordingly, if I learn of you and your ministry, I will publish your name, a postal address (if known to me), an email address (if known to me), ordination info (if known to me) and pertinent biographical information (if known to me). If a contact telephone number is already available on the web OTHER THAN FROM THE ONLINE WHITE PAGES, I will list that, too. I claim the unconditional right to do all this based on the legal concepts of fair use, journalistic freedom and common sense. I have no malice toward anyone in this movement and will never knowingly report incorrect information.

I will never list your spouse's/partner's name without your express written permission.

I will never knowingly list an unpublished home phone number without your express written permission.

I will never knowingly list a published phone home number unless it is already published elsewhere on the web (other than from the online white pages).

I will never knowingly list a person who is part of a government-run witness-protection program, unless that person has given express written permission.

I cannot be responsible for updating contact information or adding information on additional ordinations until I become aware of the changes. Even then, you must allow me a reasonable amount of time to read my email and make the necessary changes. Remember, I have a life (secular job, wife, dogs, chores, personal prayer time, real parish duties, friends and family) even if you don't (small joke, heh, heh).

If you are a clergy or religious in this movement, and are not listed in this website, and wish that I add you, cheerfully drop me a line (or use this form). You may or may not already be on my to-do list. For the record, I figure that it may take several months or more for me to add all the information on my to-do list.

If you are a clergy or religious in this movement, and want to maintain a little more privacy, give out a PO Box instead of your home address, and give out a cell phone or pager number or church office number rather than your home phone number. This is a particularly good idea if you're a single woman and live alone.

If you ever change your mind and obtain a PO box after I list your entry, cheerfully let me know and I'll in turn cheerfully change your entry -- folks do it all the time. If you change your mind and take your home phone number off your own web site or somebody else's web site, let me know; once I verify that, I'll take it off this web site, too.

If you permanently cease active ministry in this movement, let me know; I'll delete your street address and phone number, and move you to the Left-the-Movement page.

If you're a bishop and you dismiss a priest or deacon, and if you cheerfully let me know, I'll cheerfully adjust their entry to reflect that they're no longer with your church. But I will not delete them from this web site -- I do not recognize acts such as "laicization" or "voiding ordinations" or "voiding consecrations".

I steadfastly maintain the unconditional right to link "unframed" to any web site and/or web page as I see fit; such a right is the policy of the internet and has been verified by U.S. case law. NO ONE can do anything to make me stop linking to them.

I also steadfastly maintain the unconditional right to list the name of any church organization (denomination, ministry, religious order, parish, etc.) in this web site when I feel that said organization is a part of this movement. No one can prohibit me from doing this.

If your organization has formally registered some service-mark (and that registration has ALREADY been formally approved by the US Patent and Trademark Office), cheerfully let me know by sending me a notarized copy of the registration approval, and I'll, in turn, cheerfully put the [sm] designation next to the organization's name. I will not place the [sm] designation for unapproved or denied or registrations!

In Christ Jesus, I remain,
